Development of study and career counselling and a support system for students with special needs

High drop-out rates of students is a major problem in higher education. There are several reasons for dropping out, the key factors being inadequate study skills and insufficient support services. It is also important to offer support to students with special needs who need a different approach or special support to advance in their studies.

The aim of this field of activity is to foster the development of support systems for study activities, to decrease the number of dropouts and increase the competitiveness of students.

Measures for attaining this goal:

  • arranging training sessions and seminars for freshmen;
  • cooperating through a network of study and career counsellors to develop student support services (study and career counselling);
  • supporting students with special needs by offering them specific stipends and support schemes.
